Adiós Paco

Esta mañana nos ha dejado el más grande, el Maestro, Paco de Lucía.
Las palabras sobran, solo queremos decir que através de su música hemos aprendido muchísimo, y tan familiar se nos había hecho su sonido, su mensaje, que es como si se hubiera marchado un amigo muy intimo.


This morning  Paco de Lucía, the Maestro, the greatest, passed away.
Words are superfluous, we just want to say that we learned a lot with his music.
His sound, his message had become so familiar to us that  it feels like we lost a very close friend.

We're back!

Yes, I know, we skipped 2013, I am sorry... it was too difficult to keep up with the news, things just kept coming at us, and we didn't have time to write what was happening, because we were just too busy living it!

The main news: we patented a new cajon pedal that hits on the side and a special cajon that goes with it, and then found out that the same pedal could also be used for the front panel, so it was like "make an invention, get one free!".
The patent was made together with Leiva Percussion, to strenghten our bonds with a company that we like and that we work well with.
Because we're nice guys, really...we have many friends :)  one of them,  Manu Masaedo, was a revelation in 2013.
We knew he was a world class percussionist and drummer, but we also discovered that he is a hell of a singer and songwriter too!!!
Therefore, we decided to back him up and help him producing his first record, which is going to come out really soon.
We did this with another great friend of ours, a wizard of sound engineering, Kiko Caballero.
He recorded all the Cajon Flamenco dvd, so we knew him very well, plus, he happens to be very good friend with Manu, so we hit it really well together.
The record is coming out soon, so, people get ready!

Siroco on US "Drummie" reader's poll

New signature cajón for Hiro

Hello again! Long time no see....well , I have been extremely busy with both work and family issues, so I didn't have much time to update the blog. 

Nevermind, there are many things coming up which will make up for the lost time!

We' ve just received some pictures from our Japanese distributor, Kikutani, who arranged a special signature cajón for an up and coming Japanese percussionist, named Hiro, who plays for the band Pi-an-oj-ac.

They're very successful in their country, and the new cajón, made in a limited edition of 100 units had already sold-out before reaching destination!

Many compliments to Hiro, who is also publishing a new cajón tuitional book.

Hola de nuevo! Cuanto tiempo...bueno, he estado muy ocupado tanto en el trabajo como en la familia y no he tenido mucho tiempo para actualizar el blog.

Tenemos muchas novedades guardadas, asì que vamos a recuperar el tiempo perdido!

Acabamos de recibir unas fotos de nuestro distribuidor para Japón, Kikutani, que ha coordenado la realización de un cajón "signature" para un percusionista Japonés muy activo, que se llama Hiro, y toca en el combo Pi-an-oj-ac.

Ellos son muy populares en su país, tanto que los nuevo cajones, producidos en una edición de 100 ejemplares, se agotaron antes que llegaran a destino!

Enhorabuena para Hiro, que también acaba de publicar un nuevo metodo para el aprendizaje del cajón.

Siroco review

Here's a very nice review of the Siroco that appears on the latest issue of Idrummag.

Para aquellos de vosotros que aún no conocen esta asombrosa publicación virtual, les recomiendo absolutamente que la busquen, lleva un montón de información interesante: entrevistas, clases de batería y percusión...y todo presentado con estilo y elegancia.

New videos

We have been very busy at work, so I didn't have much time to update this page in the last couple of months, but here we are with a lot of new videos.
Most of them were recorded in Barcelona with Manuel Masaedo playing buleria beats on many of our models, and Kiko Caballero in the control room.
I am very pleased with the result, Manuel is a hell of a player, I hope you will enjoy them.
To top them up, here's the official promotional video for the Siroco cajón: Paquito González sent me a great percussion track with a battery of overlayed cajons and a very nice "singing" solo.
I hope you don't mind the intro...it's a bit of a joke, but perhaps I was influenced by the Olympic fever coming on.

Han sido un par de meses muy intensos en el trabajo, y no me quedó mucho tiempo para actualizar esta pagina, pero aquí estamos con um montón de nuevos videos.
La mayoria de ellos se grabaron en Barcelona con Manuel Masaedo tocando al compás de bulería en casi todos nuestros modelos, y Kiko Caballero en la mesa de control.
Estoy muy contento con el resultado, Manuel es un percusionista fenomenál, espero que os gusten.
La guinda es el video promocionál del cajón Siroco: Paquito González me obsequió con un temazo de percusión, una batucada de cajones y un solo que "canta".
Espero que me dejeis pasar la intro del video; va un poco de broma, puede que me haya llevado este clima post-futbolero y pre-olimpico...
