Young lions

This month I want to talk about two young percussionists who live in Barcelona that i recently met, who are playing really well.
Manuel Masaedo plays cajon, drumkit, and afro-cuban percussion while Erik Castillo is devoted to afro-cuban and bata drums.
Manuel was born in Spain but his family is from Argentina, Erik is from Catalonia and he spent several years in Cuba, where he learnt from various important musicians like Changuito.
They both play in a band called Arepa Funky, street conscious rap with latin-funk-progressive-rock music, and they also work with other bands like Las Migas and Kumar.
Recently they received the visit of a friend of theirs, Yaroldi Abreu (Irakere), and they played a few gigs around town.
Check this duet with Manuel on cajon (a Siroco model by the way), and a video of a rumba by Erik, where he played and sang all the parts.
